About me
Hello, I’m Jim O’Connor. The one on the right. (This is the only decent photo of me in existence, primarily because my wife is also in it.) I'm a retired marketing executive who has always been handy around the house. As a young man I did all my own repairs, mostly because I couldn't afford to pay someone else. As I grew older, I found myself doing it simply because I enjoyed it. That’s where the name, The Accidental Handyman, came from.
As someone who spent so much time in an office and behind a computer, I enjoyed the sense of accomplishment involved in building and fixing things. So when I retired from my corporate job I thought being a handyman might be a good next step for me.
I want to be clear. I am not a licensed contractor, plumber or electrician. I’m conscious of my limitations and will not take on any project unless I am confident I can handle the work. I am a licensed business owner with my own tools and liability insurance. I’m also meticulous, reliable, consciencious, prompt, clean and professional. I live in Narragansett and typically work in and around southern Rhode Island.
